Mike Sambalikagwa Mvona born on 5th August 1958, comes from Undi Village. T/A Machinjiri in Blantyre District. He went to Ching'amba, Gomani, Padoko and Kamwendo Primary Schools before entering Pius XII Seminary. He later did A Levels in Geography and Economics with the University of London. A retired weatherman. Mike later changed careers to become a journalist and public relations practitioner after acquiring professional skills at the Malawi Polytechnic. Blantyre and Mass Media Centre Lusaka. Zambia. He holds several arts certificates including an Advanced Certificate in Copyright and Related Rights in the Global Economy from Stockholm, Sweden. Described as a writer without school and an academic without a university accolade, Mike has published more than 150 poems and 90 short-stories in various publications including the American Poetry Anthology, Threshold of a Dream, The Literary Review, all American Publications as well as The Haunting Wind and the Unsung Song. An editor by profession, The Bachelor of Chikanda and Other Stories is his fourth anthology. Others are The Blind Search (2000), The Trap (2001) and Modern Stories from Malawi (2003). His other books are The Sun at Njuli (2001),The Special Document (2002) nominated for the 2004 IMPAC Dublin lnternatiolml Literary Award and A Guide to Writers and Artists Contracts (2008).
