Abu Shadi is a divorced father and a school teacher in his mid-60s living in Nazareth. After his daughter's wedding in one month he will be living alone. Shadi, his architect son, arrives from Rome after years abroad to help his father in hand delivering the wedding invitations as per local Palestinian custom. As the estranged pair spend the day together, the tense details of their relationship come to a head challenging their fragile and very different lives.

Annemarie Jacir begibt sich auf eine humorvoll ernsthafte Fahrt durch Nazareth. Der in Rom lebende Architekt Shadi ist zu Besuch in seinem Heimatort. Er soll seinem Vater dabei helfen, die Einladungen zur Hochzeit seiner Schwester persönlich zu überbringen, wie dies in Palästina traditionell gemacht wird. Die beiden haben sich während der jahrelangen Abwesenheit von Shadi voneinander entfremdet, und so wird ihre Beziehung während der gemeinsamen Reise auf die Probe gestellt. Wir erleben die Tücken einer Vater-Sohn-Beziehung und tauchen ein in die Gegenwart Nazareths. Die Tatsache, dass das Darstellerpaar Mohammad und Saleh Bakri, zwei der bekanntesten Schauspieler im arabischen Raum, im wirklichen Leben Vater und Sohn sind, gehört zu den reizvollen Elementen von Jacirs Film.

Abu Shadi è un padre divorziato e un insegnante ultrasessantenne che vive a Nazareth. Fra un mese, dopo che sua figlia si sarà sposata, vivrà solo. Shadi, suo figlio architetto, arriva da Roma dopo lunghi anni di assenza, per aiutare suo padre a consegnare a mano, secondo la tradizione palestinese, le partecipazioni al matrimonio. Quando padre e figlio, ormai estranei, passeranno la giornata insieme, le tensioni del loro rapporto riaffioreranno, mettendo a dura prova le loro fragili vite diverse.
