Algeria, 1990s. Nedjma is an 18 year-old student who dreams of becoming a fashion designer. She sneaks out of campus every night with her friends to go to a night club where she sells her creations to young Algiers girls. However, due to the Civil War, the situation in the country gets tense and women tend to have less and less rights. Nedjma refuses the repression and tries to fight it in her own way: she flouts the law to organize a fashion show.
