Fable comorienne : Baco M'Dalla, vieux notable farfelu et aisé, possède plusieurs exploitations d'ylang sur l'archipel d'Anjouan. Il vit avec ses dix femmes et ses cinquante enfants à Dindri, petit village agricole. Confronté à des problèmes d'autorité au sein de sa famille, il propose alors d'organiser un vote pour élire un nouveau chef. Qui gagnera les élections ?
