Goethe Institut Kigali presents "Nichts ist besser als gar nichts / Nothing is better than nothing at all."
Directed by Jan Peters (2010) | Original German version with English subtitles, colour, 92 min.
How do you survive when you suddenly find yourself at an airport in a major German city with no money and only a group ticket for the public transport network? Is necessity really the mother of all inventions? Jan Peters answers this question with a staged experiment which nevertheless documents reality.
It begins with a purely fictional scene: his girlfriend, Peters claims, is on her way to the Amazon Rainforest and has accidentally taken his money and bank card with her. Still, he has the key to her flat, a fully stocked fridge and a group ticket for the city's public transport network. He therefore offers to take travellers with him in exchange for a small contribution towards the ticket
